Measuring up is straight forward to do, if you're able to do it yourself you can view our handy guide for tips or contact us to book a free of charge site visit (location dependent).
Step 1.
Choose your perfect design
Start by choosing the right solution for you, whether it's for steps, a path or for a balcony. You can then filter by material to find your perfect design. Once you’ve found the style you like take note of the design’s name & code as we'll ask for this when quoting.
Step 2.
Measure up
As our handrails are made to measure, we need measurements to be able to provide you with a quote. We ask our customers for the overall length of the handrail required, if you require assistance when measuring up contact us on 01903 204867. Alternatively, we offer site visits to those that are within our area of installation, there is currently a 1-2 week waiting time for this service.
Step 3.
Contact us
Provide us with the name and code of your preferred design along with your measurements and a photo of where you’d like the handrail fitted, we can then provide you with a quote. Simply email us at info@thehandrailpeople.co.uk or fill out a Get a Quote form.
Common Questions
How do I measure up?
If you’re not sure how to take the required measurements, visit our ‘How it works’ page here. The overall length is enough to be able to provide a quote, however if acceptable we would require further measurements.
How can I leave feedback?

Can you do a site visit and measure up for me?
If you don’t feel confident that you can measure up and you would like a site visit, please let us know. Our site visits are free of charge with no obligations, we aim to visit you within 1-2 weeks of your enquiry depending on where you live.
What is a product code and where can I find them?
When you browse our product pages, either Balustrades, Handrails or Grab Rails you will find images of all of our designs. Each picture has both a name and a code (#) attached to it, this is a product code.
I don’t know how to choose a handrail, can you help?

Is my handrail guaranteed?
Yes, all of our handrails, grab rails and balustrades are guaranteed for up to 20 years from purchasing- T&C's apply.
Are handrails VAT exempt?
Unfortunately they aren’t, however there are a few exceptions; a new purpose built ramp for the use of a disabled person and for a path that has been widened for a wheelchair user. We're based in West Sussex, but we travel a two hour radius for site visits and installations. The map below shows the areas we cover, if you're unsure please get in contact to ask a member of staff.
Nationwide delivery
If you're not within our installation service area, you can still access our bespoke made solutions through our Supply Only service which can be delivered nationwide.
